Legends tell that it was through this cave that Orpheus entered the
underground kingdom of Hades, to save his beloved Euridice. The cave
Djavolskoto Garlo ("Devil's throat")
is located only 1 kilometre on the north from Trigrad.
The water of Trigradskata Reka river form several waterfalls in it,
with the biggest one falling 60 metres in the large Buchashta
Zala ("Roaring hall") of the cave. There is electricity
in the cave and the staircases leading up near the roaring water of
the underground waterfall are protected with concrete handrails. A
150-metre-tunnel has been dug in the rock so that the underground
world of the Djavolskoto Garlo cave may become accessible to the people. |
